Douglas Cary Runkel, 45, passed away April 10, 1990 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Oh., He was born in Canton, Oh; March 27, 1945, to Harold E. and Mary E. (McCann) Runkel. Mr. Runkel was a graduate of Newark High School class of 1963.
He worked at the Ritchey Sign Company in Zanesville and was a member of the Neal Avenue Methodist Church in Newark.
He is survived by his parents; his wife, Penny (Noblick)Runkel; son, Brian D. Runkel, at home; brother, Denny Runkel of Gahanna.
Calling hours from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Heath Chapel of the Henderson, Vanatta & Johnstone Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. Rev. Roland Perkins and Rev. Joseph Mullenix officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
