A memorial service for Karen Wave Layman Schwagerl, 62, of Brainerd, Minn., formerly from Newark, Oh., will be at 11:00 A.M. September 22 at the Liberty United Methodist Church, 3375 Dutch Lane N.W., Johnstown.
Karen died in her home Aug 12, 2007.
She was the daughter of the late Dwight C. Layman and Wave V.(Cramer) Irvin, of Newark. A 1963 graduate of Newark High School and 1967 graduate of Grant Medical School, spent more than 40 years in various avenues of the nursing field.
She is survived by her husband, George Schwagerl, of Brainerd, Minn.,whom she married on Sept. 29, 1973; children, Carman(David) Juszczyk, of Bloomfield, Colo.; Roark( Christine) Schwagerl, of New Brighton, Minn.; brother Michael (Sandy) Layman, of Newark; grandchildren, Conner and Chloe Schwagerl, and Luca Juszczyk; nieces; nephews; great-nieces;and great-nephews; her mother, Wave V. Irvin.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dwight C. Layman.
Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Sept. 22, at the church.
