George Richard Davenport ll age 61, of Antwerp, Oh., passed away Tuesday morning, September 13, 2005 at his residence. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana December 19, 1943 to the late George R. and Phyllis (Nagawiecki) Davenport.
George graduated from Newark High School class of 1963 and proudly served in the National Guard for 6 years. He was a welder by trade and worked for 21 years at Owen Corning Fiberglas. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and riding his motorcycle.
Surviving are is wife, Dorothy (Newbauer) Davenport who he married on October 19, 2000., his sons, George R.Davenport lll of Newark, Oh., and Robert Davenport of Mississippi; step daughter, Carla Woodcox of Antwerp; step son ,Jeffrey Banks of El Paso, Tx; sisters, Nancy Zuk of St. Clair, Mi., Susan Murfield of Springfield, Oh., Connie Davenport, and a brother Scott Davenport of Newark, and 7 grandchildren.
George was preceded in death by a son, Rodney and a granddaughter, Lexi Woodcox.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 16, at Dooley Funeral Home with The Rev. Jim Edwards officiating. Burial at Maumee Cemetery, Antwerp. |
