The Class of 1963 has decided to assist, as our 50th reunion project, the "A Call to college" scholarship program (here). The goal of this program is:
"Every year many academically qualified students who should attend college do not. Two of the biggest obstacles are the complexities of the financial aid process and the high cost of college. In response to this need, A CALL TO COLLEGE was established in 1991 for Newark High School Students by NHS alumni with the support of the community and the Newark City School system."
Our goal is to donate $10,000 at our 50th reunion.
Jim Cartner, as a class officer, has spearheaded the project with a $100 donation. Let's make this worthwhile endeavor happen!!
